What our own data shows
Every figure here comes from our own catalogue, read in October 2026: the verdict on each perfume page (compiled from wearer reports), the notes and perfumer credits recorded for each perfume, our estimated scent similarity scores, our scent profiles and the shops we track. The method is on our methodology page.
Within a family, the Intense is a close sibling rather than a new scent. In our estimated scent similarity, La Femme and La Femme Intense score 88% (frangipani, tuberose and ylang-ylang in common), Paradoxe and Paradoxe Intense 87% (vanilla, amber and pear), and L'Eau Ambrée and the original Prada eau de parfum 86%, both leaning amber, citrus and balsamic.
Our profiles put Infusion d'Iris first for the office. Candy Kiss, Virtual Flower, Infusion de Fleur d'Oranger and Infusion de Rose lean to spring and summer, and Candy, Candy Night, La Femme Intense, Radical Essence, the original Prada and L'Eau Ambrée are autumn and winter scents.
Shop coverage is uneven. In October 2026, Paradoxe is stocked by 11 of the shops we track in the UK and 9 in the US, Candy by 10 and 8, and Paradoxe Intense by 12 and 7. Candy Night and the original Prada eau de parfum are each stocked by one shop in the UK and none in the US, and L'Eau Ambrée has no live offers with us.
The four Prada families
Prada has a long women's list, and the names on it do not tell you much. Four families cover most of it. Paradoxe is the modern one, a run of floral bottles from 2022 onwards. Candy is the sweet, powdery line that started in 2011. La Femme is the polished white floral. Infusion is the quiet, clean end of the range, built around a single idea such as iris or orange blossom.
It is drawn from the verdicts on our own perfume pages, compiled from wearer reports. Every pick names its concentration, because Prada sells several fragrances with near-identical names and the label is the only thing that separates them.
Paradoxe: the modern Prada perfume
All of the Paradoxe bottles below were composed by the same three perfumers, Antoine Maisondieu, Nadège Le Garlantezec and Shyamala Maisondieu.

Paradoxe - Eau de Parfum
Fresh, Floral · Spring, Autumn · Date · Long (6-10h)
Pear, tangerine and bergamot over jasmine, orange blossom and neroli, with vanilla, amber, musk and benzoin underneath. It dates from 2022.
Fresh at the start, creamy in the middle, soft at the end. Our verdict calls it fresh, creamy and quietly seductive, and nothing in the note list is difficult, which makes it an easy first Prada. It is effortlessly chic and endlessly wearable, which is the reason to start here.
Choose it if you want an easy, chic first Prada. Skip it if you want a scent that announces itself, as the verdict calls it quietly seductive.

Paradoxe Intense - Eau de Parfum
Green, Fresh · Autumn, Spring · Date · Long (6-10h)
Pear and bergamot over neroli, jasmine and oakmoss, with vanilla and amber at the base. 2023.
The vanilla is turned up here. It reads as a lush vanilla floral, creamy and sensual, with oakmoss in the heart and a sophisticated edge. It commands attention, so it is the one to choose over the original if you want to be noticed.
Choose it if you want the vanilla turned up and a scent that gets noticed. Skip it if you prefer the lighter, fresher original.

Paradoxe Virtual Flower - Eau de Parfum
Fresh, Floral · Spring, Summer · Office · Long (6-10h)
Bergamot, then jasmine and neroli, on musk and ambrette. 2024.
This is the airy one: a white floral with a breezy citrus-musk finish, and a short note list to match. Radiant and versatile, light in feel but lasting.
Choose it if you want an airy white floral that is light in feel but lasting. Skip it if you want rich, sweet florals.

Prada Paradoxe Radical Essence - Parfum
Green, Floral · Autumn, Winter · Date · Moderate (4-6h)
Neroli and orange blossom over pistachio, on sandalwood. 2025.
Read the verdict before you spend money. Wearers split hard. Some find an unusual creamy gourmand, and others describe burnt popcorn or a dirty gym sock. This is a bottle to smell first, not to buy blind.
Choose it if an unusual, creamy pistachio gourmand appeals and you can smell it first. Skip it if you want a safe blind buy, as wearers split hard.
Candy: sweet, soft and powdery
Daniela Andrier composed Candy and Candy Kiss below. She also wrote La Femme and the three Infusion bottles later in this guide.

Candy - Eau de Parfum
Sweet, Amber · Autumn, Winter · Casual · Moderate (4-6h)
Caramel on top, with powder and musk in the heart, then benzoin and vanilla. 2011.
Wearers are split down the middle. For some it is a buttery, powdery, comforting scent. For others it is weak and synthetic, and they cannot find any candy in it. If you are curious, test it before you buy.
Choose it if you want a buttery, powdery comfort scent. Skip it if you expect real candy sweetness, which many wearers cannot find in it.

Candy Kiss - Eau de Parfum
Sweet, Amber · Spring, Summer · Casual · Moderate (4-6h)
White musk, orange blossom and a thin line of vanilla. 2016.
Candy without the caramel: a fluffy, clean musk. Some call it a soft, clean masterpiece, while others are underwhelmed by how simple it is and how little it lasts. Not one for a blind buy.
Choose it if you want a fluffy, clean musk that is Candy without the caramel. Skip it if staying power matters, because some wearers find it too simple and short-lived.

Candy Night - Eau de Parfum
Sweet, Floral · Winter, Autumn · Date · Moderate (4-6h)
Iris, bitter orange and neroli over vanilla, tonka bean, dark chocolate and patchouli. 2019.
Some wearers love the dark chocolate. Others find the bitter orange and iris closer to stale cigarettes or bug spray. The verdict calls it a marmite fragrance, so smell before you commit.
Choose it if you love the idea of dark chocolate and vanilla. Skip it if bitter orange and iris might read as stale cigarettes or bug spray on you, which the verdict says some wearers find.
La Femme: polished white florals

La Femme - Eau de Parfum
Floral, Woody · Spring, Summer · Office · Long (6-10h)
Frangipani and mandarin over tuberose and ylang-ylang, on a woody base. 2016.
A creamy white floral that stays elegant rather than heavy. It balances freshness and warmth without excess sweetness or powder. If you want a white floral from Prada, start here.
Choose it if you want a creamy white floral that stays elegant rather than heavy. Skip it if you want sweetness or powder in your florals.

Prada La Femme Intense - Eau de Parfum
Floral, Sweet · Autumn, Winter · Date · Moderate (4-6h)
Ylang-ylang and frangipani over tuberose, jasmine and orange blossom, on patchouli, vanilla, vetiver and iris. 2017.
A fuller and richer take on the same idea, and the opinions are stronger too. Fans call it a confident, head-turning statement. Detractors find it too mature, even vulgar. It is a statement scent, so try it before you commit.
Choose it if you want a fuller, richer white floral and a confident statement. Skip it if you worry it will read as too mature, as detractors say.
Infusion: clean, quiet and single-minded
The Infusion bottles are the opposite of Paradoxe. Each is built around one flower or one idea, and nothing is sugary. The three below were all composed by Daniela Andrier.

Infusion d'Iris - Eau de Parfum
Fresh, Amber · Spring, Summer · Office · Moderate (4-6h)
Neroli, mandarin and orange blossom over iris, galbanum and mastic, drying down to cedar, incense, benzoin and vetiver. 2007.
A cool, clean iris with a little incense, and it projects quiet confidence rather than shouting for attention. Pristine elegance, though some find it aloof.
Choose it if you want a cool, clean iris that projects quiet confidence. Skip it if you want warmth, as some find it aloof.

Infusion de Fleur d'Oranger - Eau de Parfum
Floral, Fresh · Spring, Summer · Casual · Moderate (4-6h)
Neroli and mandarin over orange blossom, jasmine and tuberose, on powder. 2009.
Soapy, powdery and slightly old-fashioned, and that is the appeal. If you dislike tuberose, leave it.
Choose it if you like soapy, powdery orange blossom with an old-fashioned feel. Skip it if you dislike tuberose.

Infusion de Rose - Eau de Parfum
Sweet, Green · Spring, Summer · Casual · Moderate (4-6h)
Mandarin and mint over rose, mate and beeswax. 2011.
A clean, green rose that stays close to the skin. It is intimate rather than strong, and some wearers find it too demure, even bland.
Choose it if you want a clean, green rose that sits close to the skin. Skip it if you want presence, as some wearers find it too demure or bland.
Older and harder to find

Prada - Eau de Parfum
Fresh, Woody · Autumn, Winter · Formal · Long (6-10h)
Bergamot, mimosa and bitter orange over patchouli, rose and pink pepper, on benzoin, sandalwood, labdanum and tonka bean. Carlos Benaïm, Clément Gavarry and Max Gavarry, 2004.
A bold, confident blast of earthy patchouli and rich amber rather than sweetness. The verdict calls it a love-it-or-hate-it affair and not one for the timid.
Choose it if you want earthy patchouli and rich amber with confidence. Skip it if you are wary of love-it-or-hate-it scents.

L'Eau Ambrée - Eau de Toilette
Fresh, Amber · Autumn, Winter · Casual · Moderate (4-6h)
Citrus and lemon over patchouli and rose, on amber, opoponax and vanilla. Andrier, 2009.
A soft, powdery amber with a quiet-luxury feel. The verdict describes it as discontinued, so finding a bottle may take effort, and names projection and longevity as its weak spots.
Choose it if you like soft, powdery amber and can find a bottle. Skip it if you need projection or longevity, which are its weak spots.
How to choose
For a first Prada, start with Paradoxe, and try Paradoxe Intense if you want it fuller. For the office, Infusion d'Iris and Virtual Flower are the ones our profiles favour. For a white floral, La Femme is the polished one and La Femme Intense the bolder. For something sweet, Candy and Candy Night are the options, and both need a skin test first. For warm weather, Candy Kiss, Virtual Flower and Infusion de Fleur d'Oranger lean to spring and summer. Several of these divide wearers, so test on skin before you commit to a full bottle.

How we chose
The picks are drawn from the verdicts on our perfume pages, which are compiled from wearer reports. We started with the women's Prada perfumes, favoured the bottles that more shops stock, and kept a few older or hard-to-find ones because the verdicts say something useful about them. The similarity, profile and shop figures above were read in October 2026. The method is set out on our methodology page.
