Armani Prive's 2010 entry in La Collection des Mille et une Nuits, composed by Evelyne Boulanger. Saffron-led opening, oud and frankincense at the heart, amber-rose-sandalwood-incense base. The reference Western oud-saffron-amber composition that Lattafa Opulent Oud and many others have cloned.
Olibanum is a polarising beast. For some, it's a 'heavenly' meditative incense masterpiece, rich and natural. For others, it’s a challenging blend of 'unwashed priest's robe', 'sweaty cedar', and 'gasoline'. Best avoided unless you're absolutely certain you want to smell like an ancient, green-tinged cathedral with a side of Marmalade. A true love-it-or-hate-it scent.
