Azarbre
Note Profile
About
Dry honey over orris wood
Scent Profile
Azarbre smells of warm honey, dry rather than sweet. Dry wood and a dusty orris tone sit under the honey, with a hint of dried flowers. A faint medicinal, chrysanthemum-like edge shows at the back.

Origin
Azarbre is Givaudan's trade name for diethyldimethylcyclohex-2-en-1-one, CAS 68845-36-3. It is a synthetic cyclic ketone.
Usage in Perfumery
Perfumers use it in honey-sweet florals and as a blender for woods and florals. Givaudan says it enhances the effect of ionones at 2 to 3%. It gives a warm honey tone with a dried-flower and orris side.
