Scent Profile

Citrus leads and it is the only claim both sources make. Bon Parfumeur calls the bergamot half 'a bright, tangy note' and Alkemia opens with 'a sparkling brightness of uplifting bergamot tea'. It is set below earl-grey-tea at 0.78, because Earl Grey's whole design is bergamot over darkness while here the citrus meets less resistance. Tobacco_hay is the tea leaf itself, the facet every published tea note carries. It is well below earl-grey-tea at 0.58 and below black-tea at 0.60, because no fetched source calls this note tannic, malty or astringent; Bon Parfumeur says only that 'tea brings a soothing subtlety'. Green carries the leaf reading, and it is the value I am least sure of. It rests on Bon Parfumeur naming a green tea accord and on Alkemia's surrounding green ingredients, so it gets a spread. Floral and aromatic_herbal are bergamot's own herbal-floral shoulder. Smoky is held rather than zero on purpose. No source here mentions smoke, but if the tea in a given build is black then Premiere Peau's 'faint smokiness' applies, so the facet gets a wide 0.16 spread instead of a false absence.

Not a raw material. No supplier catalogue fetched sells a 'bergamot tea' extract. It is an accord built from bergamot oil or its terpene fractions over a tea material, usually a green tea absolute or a tea reconstruction. Bon Parfumeur describes the pairing as a standing perfumery accord: 'The tea-bergamot accord is a classic, beloved for its refreshing and energizing blend.'

Usage in Perfumery

Used in colognes and light eaux where a clean tea freshness is wanted. Bon Parfumeur names one build as 'a green tea accord with bergamot and beeswax'. Alkemia Perfumes lists it beside lemon balm, lime leaf, gingerflower and grapefruit, which is the same bright register.
