About

Blackberry Blossom is the bramble flower, not the berry. One retail source describes it as floral, fruity and sweet, and that single line is the whole of the direct evidence. It is scored here as a light hedgerow-flower note, sweeter and far less tart than the published `blackberry` fruit note, with wide spreads on every facet because no trade or analytical source describes it.

Scent Profile

A light floral leads, soft and sweet rather than heady. A fruity facet sits behind it, reading as the plant the flower belongs to rather than as ripe berry juice. A gentle sweet_vanillic warmth runs under both, and a thin green facet from the calyx and cane keeps it from turning sugary. A faint honeyed nectar quality and a trace of powder sit below the level worth naming as structure. None of the dark, tart, green-woody weight of the blackberry FRUIT note is present here.

Origin

The flower of Rubus fruticosus, the common bramble. Five white-to-pink petals with cream stamens, borne on the same thorny canes that carry the fruit. No supplier of a genuine Blackberry Blossom absolute, CO2 or headspace capture was found on 2026-08-23. Trade sources are agreed that the blackberry FRUIT note is entirely synthetic, because the key odorants are too heavy and too water-soluble to extract (CA Perfume). Nothing found says whether the same is true of the flower, but the absence of any supplier listing points the same way. Every use of the term in perfumery is most likely a constructed accord.

Usage in Perfumery

Used as a light floral top-to-heart accent in hedgerow, garden and berry-floral builds, where it softens a fruit note without adding the tartness that the fruit note carries. Measured on 2026-08-23: 10 Fragrantica perfumes, 4 Parfumo placements across 4 brands. Fragrantica files it under Flowers, not Fruits, which is the one independent signal that the trade treats it as a flower rather than a synonym for the berry.
