About

The unspecified form of the berry-flower idea: a light floral with a tart, unripe-berry edge under it. It names no plant, so it is broader than blackberry-blossom, cherry-blossom or strawberry-flower, and its vector is deliberately less sharp than any of them.

Scent Profile

Floral leads, and both sources put the flower first. Perfumestars calls blackberry blossom a 'delicate floral scent and faint fruity undertones', and Oud Library pairs 'the soft elegance of delicate florals' with the fruit. It is a plain floral rather than a white_floral, because nothing in either source describes indole, heaviness or a named white flower. Fruity is the second thing both sources state, and it is set below the floral because Perfumestars calls the fruit an undertone twice. Green and sweet_vanillic sit just under the reporting line and carry the stem-and-sepal side and the soft sweetness respectively. Sour is the one facet that separates this note from a generic pink flower: Perfumestars specifies 'the fresh, slightly tart undertone of the berry itself', so the fruit here is unripe rather than jammy.

Origin

Composed, not extracted. No berry produces a commercially distilled blossom essential oil or absolute, and no supplier documentation for a Berry Blossom material was found on 2026-08-29. The referent is the flower of the bramble and cane fruits as a group, Rubus and Fragaria and Ribes, which carry five white-to-pink petals on the same plant that carries the fruit. In a formula the note is built, usually from a light floral base plus a tart fruity accord.

Usage in Perfumery

A heart note. Attested 3 times on Parfumo across 3 brands and absent from the Fragrantica note list, so its use is real but small and spread thin across houses. Oud Library's Berry Blossom perfume oil shows one way it is read in a finished product: red fruits on top, 'Sweet Pea, Freesia, Jasmine, Rose' in the heart, and 'Raspberry, Musk, Sandalwood, Amber' in the base.
