Cascara
Note Profile
About
Tart dried fruit, raisin and hibiscus
Scent Profile
Cascara smells of clean dried fruit: raisin and prune first, with apricot, cranberry and dried apple behind. A tart, tangy edge like hibiscus tea and tamarind runs through it. When wet a delicate floral lift appears. It is sweet but bright, not dark, jammy or roasted.

Origin
Cascara is the dried skin and pulp of the coffee cherry, the fruit around the coffee bean. It is sun-dried after the beans are removed and brewed as a tea called coffee cherry tea. It is the fruit, not the roasted bean.
Usage in Perfumery
In perfume it is named as a fruity note that gives a dried-fruit and tart, tea-like side without the roast of coffee. No perfumery extract was found, so the note is most likely built as an accord of dried fruit, hibiscus-like tartness and a light floral.
