About
Cassowary fruit, also called cassowary plum, is a rainforest fruit of New Guinea and northern Australia named after the bird that spreads its seeds. The trade source describes it as plum-like, juicy and slightly floral.
Scent Profile
Fruity leads and every sentence in the source starts there: ripe plums, juicy, fresh, a strong plum-like aroma. Tropical is the hint of tropical sweetness the source names twice, held second because it is always qualified as a hint. Sour is the tart undertone that the source says grows as the note settles, so it is a drydown quality rather than an opening bite. Floral is the slightly floral character reported both in the fruit and on the blotter, and it is the last facet above the naming bar. Below it: green for the subtle green notes, sweet_vanillic for the sweetness the tartness is said to balance, boozy for the mild fermented edge. All spreads are wide and the confidence is low, because one page is the whole evidence base and that page names a plant that may not be this fruit.

Origin
The one source gives the botanical name Castanospora alphandii. That does not match the egg-shaped poisonous fruit that consumer copy calls cassowary plum. The two could not be reconciled from any source we are allowed to fetch, so the referent is uncertain and the vector follows the odour prose rather than the plant.
Usage in Perfumery
Fragrantica attests the term once and files it under fruits, vegetables and nuts. Parfumo does not carry it. The source positions it as a brightener for fruity and floral compositions.
