Made by synthesis, not extracted. It is 4-cyclohexyl-2-methyl-2-butanol, a cyclohexyl alcohol sold by dsm-firmenich under the Coranol name. This repository already holds the molecule in its material data under that systematic name. The note and the material are different layers: Coranol is the word a brand prints on a box, 4-cyclohexyl-2-methyl-2-butanol is the word a supplier prints on a drum.

Usage in Perfumery

A floral workhorse and a linalool substitute. Perfumers use it where linalool would go but where it needs to survive longer and stay stable in the base, so it turns up in lavender, freesia and muguet accords and in the fresh top-to-heart bridge of a floral.
