Iralia is dsm-firmenich's blend of methylionones. It smells of violet and orris as cosmetic powder, carried on a full floral body, with a woody undertone and a small fruity lift.

Scent Profile

Iralia smells rich and deeply floral, violet and orris carried as a cosmetic powder. The powdery facet is almost as strong as the floral itself. A woody undertone runs quietly underneath. A small, delicate fruity hint shows at the edges.

Synthetic. Iralia is a mixture of methylionone isomers made by dsm-firmenich, not a single molecule. The maker says the blend is weighted toward the more floral trans-alpha-isomethyl-ionone isomer.

Usage in Perfumery

The maker gives a use level of 1 to 10 per cent, and up to 20 to 25 per cent in some formulas. It is used to build violet and iris effects and to put powder under a floral heart.
