Scent Profile

Floral is the frame. Premiere Peau places the note by comparison with three flowers and nothing else: lighter and more transparent than orange blossom, less narcotic than jasmine, closest to linden blossom. Honeyed is the character inside that frame and it is the first word the source uses, 'gentle, honeyed-sweet'. It stops rather than going higher because the source is explicit about the kind of honey: 'floral nectar rather than processed honey', 'pollination and warm air rather than the concentrated sweetness of the jar'. White floral is the orange blossom comparison, held down because the claim is that this note is the lighter of the two. Green is 'faintly green', and it is capped there because the same source says the note is less terpenic and herbal than linden. Below the line, clean musk and lactonic sit each, which is the single phrase 'a clean, slightly waxy undertone' split across the two facets that phrase names. Sweet vanillic is the 'quietly sweet' reading.

Origin

Jujube Blossom is the flower of Ziziphus jujuba, the Chinese date or red date tree. The flowers are small, star-shaped and yellow-green, and they are a major nectar source for commercial jujube honey. The Missouri Botanical Garden's plant entry confirms only that they are fragrant. No supplier found sells a jujube blossom absolute or concrete, so the note as used is composed rather than extracted. The fruit is a separate thing and its aroma literature does not apply here.

Usage in Perfumery

Used as a soft honeyed floral in the heart, where linden or acacia would otherwise sit. Premiere Peau calls it 'quietly sweet and undemanding', which is a statement about how it behaves in a formula as much as how it smells.
