Jujube blossom is a quiet floral note, lighter and more transparent than orange blossom and closest to linden blossom. Honey is its character from the first word, though it reads as floral nectar rather than jarred honey. It carries a touch of white floral warmth from that orange-blossom comparison, held lighter than the real thing. A faint green freshness and a quietly sweet, slightly waxy undertone finish it.

Jujube Blossom is the flower of Ziziphus jujuba, the Chinese date or red date tree. The flowers are small, star-shaped and yellow-green, and they are a major nectar source for commercial jujube honey. The Missouri Botanical Garden's plant entry confirms only that they are fragrant. No supplier found sells a jujube blossom absolute or concrete, so the note as used is composed rather than extracted. The fruit is a separate thing and its aroma literature does not apply here.

Usage in Perfumery

Used as a soft honeyed floral in the heart, where linden or acacia would otherwise sit. Premiere Peau calls it 'quietly sweet and undemanding', which is a statement about how it behaves in a formula as much as how it smells.
