Latex is a reconstructed accord, not an extract. All four sources agree it is built rather than distilled, and all four reach for the same words: smooth, rubbery, slightly sweet, industrial. The core is the sulphurous rubberiness of a vulcanised product, kept polished rather than burnt. Underneath it the accord drifts to musk. Premiere Peau's own timeline ends on 'soft, glossy, musky warmth' and then 'a subtle, smooth, synthetic-musky residue', so the musk is scored high and is not a flourish.

Scent Profile

Sulphurous leads and is the rubber itself, the vulcanisation character every source names. Clean_musk is second and is scored that high because it is where the accord ends, not where it starts: two of Premiere Peau's three timeline stages are musk. Leather follows, on the strength of Scentspiracy's statement that the same sulphurous building block is the workhorse for industrial leather and latex accords alike. Lactonic is Mimya's milky sensuality, which is a real claim but a single-source one, so it carries the widest spread in the vector. Sweet_vanillic is the elastic sweetness that three sources mention. Mineral is the sleek, slightly metallic read Mimya gives. Below the line, animalic and smoky are small: the industrial edge is present but this accord is glossy, not burnt.

Origin

Nothing is extracted. Natural rubber latex is the milky sap of Hevea brasiliensis, and Premiere Peau states plainly that it is not extracted for perfumery. The same source separates the raw sap from the finished product and says the two smell different: the sap is mildly sweet, sappy and faintly ammonia-like, while processed rubber gets its character from sulphur vulcanisation compounds. The perfumery note is built to the processed side. Construction is given only in general terms, as certain esters, traces of sulphurous materials and glossy musk-like materials. Scentspiracy names benzothiazole as the primary workhorse for industrial leather, latex, neoprene and asphalt accords at 10-500 ppm, which is this dossier's inference for the sulphurous trace, not a molecule either note-database source names.
