Lemon eucalyptus is the oil steam distilled from the leaves of Corymbia citriodora, once classed as Eucalyptus citriodora. It is rich in citronellal and has almost no cineole. It smells like a sharp, slightly waxy lemon, with a citronella character, a green herbaceous body and a faint rosy touch. It is harder and less sweet than lemon myrtle.

CAS 106-23-0
Citronellal, CAS 106-23-0, makes up 65-80% of Corymbia citriodora oil and carries its character. It is the oil's main odorant, not the whole oil, which we do not hold.

These are facts about the substance, not about any perfume with this note.
Why that matters
A perfume that names Lemon Eucalyptus can use a different extract, a
reformulated version, or a synthetic reconstruction. It can also hold less
than the amount that requires a declaration. We cannot tell which applies.
These rows cover only the substances we hold a link for.
Steam distilled from the leaves of Corymbia citriodora, formerly classed as Eucalyptus citriodora. Citronellal dominates, typically 65-80%, so it carries almost none of the cineole that defines ordinary eucalyptus.
Usage in Perfumery
A citrus-fresh note where cost matters, and the industrial source of citronellal for onward synthesis. Reads more as insect repellent than as perfume if overdosed.
