Origin
Musk T is a trade name for ethylene brassylate (CAS 105-95-3), a macrocyclic musk made by synthesis. Takasago sell it under this name. DuPont first sold the molecule as Musk T and Astrotone. It is not found in nature.
Usage in Perfumery
Perfumers use it as a base note musk in all kinds of accords, from floral to animalic, for its tenacity and its soft sweetness. It works in most applications.
