Phenyl Ethyl Acetate
Note Profile
About
Sweet, honeyed rose with peach
Scent Profile
Phenyl ethyl acetate smells of sweet, round rose with a clear honey note. Soft peach and apricot fruit sit beside the petals. A faint green edge and a soft balsamic warmth run underneath. In strong doses a hint of cocoa and a yeasty, fermented note can appear.

Origin
Phenyl ethyl acetate (phenethyl acetate, CAS 103-45-7) is the acetate ester of phenylethyl alcohol. It is a colourless liquid. It is made by esterifying phenylethyl alcohol for perfume use.
Usage in Perfumery
Perfumers use it to add a sweet, honeyed, petal-like depth to rose, peony and hyacinth accords. It is rounder and softer than phenylethyl alcohol and holds well in the heart of a formula.
