Scent Profile

Aromatic_herbal leads and stays close to the published `rosemary` note at 0.62, because Specialty Produce says the blossom "still contains strong rosemary notes". The word that follows is "milder", so it is not raised above the parent either. Floral is the facet that earns this note a row of its own. Hermitage Oils' reviewers describe the whole-plant absolute as opening with "a high sweet opening, almost a floral w/o definition" before the herbaceous heart arrives, and that soft top is what the leaf-only profile does not carry. The published `rosemary` note scores floral at zero. It is capped and given the widest spread in the vector, 0.25, because the quote says "w/o definition": the source is reporting a floral impression it cannot name. Cooling_mentholic is the camphor, halved from the parent's 0.72. That reduction rests on a stated comparison rather than an assumed absence. Specialty Produce says outright that the blossoms have "a more subtle aroma than the leaves", and camphor is what the leaf is loudest in. Rosmarinus officinalis, the flower. No source found describes a rosemary flower absolute distilled apart from the leaf. AromaWeb lists the plant part for rosemary essential oil as "Leaves and Flowers/Buds", and Hermitage Oils says of its rosemary absolute "you will get the whole plant, from root to flower". So the material behind this note is the flowering herb, and the flower's own contribution has to be read from the difference sources report between blossom and leaf.
