Cape Snow Bush
Note Profile
About
Bitter, camphor-edged fynbos herb
Scent Profile
Cape snow bush smells fresh and herbal, with a bitter, aromatic edge close to artemisia. A soft camphor coolness rises from it, gentler than in rosemary. Light spice and a faint sweet, floral tone sit underneath.

ScentArt
Origin
Cape snow bush is Eriocephalus africanus, a silver-leaved fynbos shrub from South Africa, also called kapokbos. The oil is steam-distilled from the wild-crafted plant. Its main components vary by batch and include linalyl acetate, p-cymene, sabinene and 1,8-cineole.
Usage in Perfumery
South African distillers sell it as a new aromatic oil and suggest it for herbal and aromatic accords. One distiller says its bitter, spiced, artemisia-like character could have potential in new fragrances. No source names a perfumer's formula.
