Origin
Sorbettolide is a captive musk molecule from Firmenich, now dsm-firmenich, trademarked in 2017. It is made by synthesis and sold as a renewable, biodegradable replacement for older musks. It is not available outside licensed industry channels, so no public manufacturer datasheet describes it.
Usage in Perfumery
Used as a base musk that also supplies sweetness. Nez groups it with Strawbinone as one of the sweet musks.
