Alexandria Fragrances H7 is an Extrait de Parfum. H7 opens with Bergamot and Mandarin, settles into a heart of Vetiver and Rosemary, and dries down to a base of Musk, Amber, and Oud. Alexandria Fragrances's H7 carries a Statement verdict, a fresh-led wear.

H7 pays tribute to Yves Saint Laurent's discontinued M7, one of the first designer scents built around oud, keeping the citrus-rosemary-vetiver-oud shape but with a softer, less rebellious oud presence than the 2002 original.

Top, heart and base are the brand's own listing, not a timing claim - the industry classifies a note by its character as much as by how fast it fades. Each curve here is modelled from that material's own volatility, so groups can overlap when a house lists long-lasting materials in its heart.

About

H7 borrows the structure that made M7 a landmark when Yves Saint Laurent released it in 2002 as one of the earliest designer fragrances centred on agarwood: a citrus opening of mandarin and bergamot, a herbal rosemary-vetiver heart, and an amber-musk base built around oud. Alexandria's version swaps the original's rosemary-mandarin-bergamot for Sicilian mandarin and Italian bergamot with French rosemary and vetiver roots, and stays fairly faithful to that structure. The main difference is intensity - M7 was considered genuinely bold for its era, with agarwood pushed forward enough that it initially confused Western noses unused to oud in a mainstream release, and it was eventually relaunched as M7 Oud Absolu with an even deeper woody-resinous core. H7's oud reads smoother and more polished from the start, trading some of that raw, challenging edge for an easier, more universally wearable woody-amber trail that lasts well but doesn't quite recreate the original's uncompromising character.
