Alexandria UK Zion Noir is an Eau de Parfum. Zion Noir opens with Bergamot, Lemon, Mandarin, and Lavender, settles into a heart of Rose, Pink Pepper, and Blackberry, and dries down to a base of Leather, Patchouli, Cardamom, and Ambroxan. Alexandria UK's Zion Noir carries an Acquired verdict, a amber-led wear.

Zion Noir takes on Roja's Elysium Noir, a dark amber-woody twist on the Elysium line. The bergamot-blackberry-rose opening captures the mood well, but the ambroxan-patchouli base feels thinner and less resinous than the original's frankincense-cypriol complexity, with shorter staying power on the skin.

About

Zion Noir opens with bright bergamot, lemon and mandarin softened by lavender, before a fruity-floral heart of blackberry and rose with a dusting of pink pepper takes over, echoing the dark, brooding shift Roja built into Elysium Noir. The base leans on ambroxan and patchouli, with frankincense, leather and cardamom filling out a warm, spicy amber trail. The opening and heart do a fair job of capturing the original's fresh-meets-dark contrast, and the fruity-floral core is genuinely well judged, but the drydown is where Zion Noir shows its budget roots: the ambroxan reads more synthetic-clean than Elysium Noir's layered cypriol-frankincense-sandalwood base, and the whole composition sits closer to the skin with noticeably less projection after the first couple of hours. It works well as an evening or date-night scent when a warm, amber-woody presence is wanted without the niche price tag, though anyone who has worn the original will clock the simpler, flatter finish.
