April Aromatics Erdenstern is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2014, created by Tanja Bochnig. April Aromatics's Erdenstern carries a Statement verdict, a musk-led wear.

A truly divisive amber-vetiver, Erdenstern splits the room between 'boozy perfection' and 'cloying whiskey mess'. If you can ride out the opening, you'll be rewarded with a unique, comforting scent that leans masculine.

Top, heart and base are the brand's own listing, not a timing claim - the industry classifies a note by its character as much as by how fast it fades. Each curve here is modelled from that material's own volatility, so groups can overlap when a house lists long-lasting materials in its heart.

When To Wear

Best Seasons

Best For:
Fall Winter

A cold-weather scent - best worn in autumn and winter.

Best Occasions

Best For:
Date
Also Works:
Casual

Its moderate longevity and sillage mean it won't offend in most settings, making it suitable for casual wear and dates. However, the prominent boozy notes might be too informal for the office or strictly formal events, and it's definitely not for sport.

About

Erdenstern opens with a boozy, almost whiskey-like punch, quickly followed by a dark, unsweetened cacao. This evolves into a smooth, dry tobacco leaf, softened by the earthy depth of vetiver and the rich sweetness of tonka bean and opoponax. The final drydown reveals a subtle, warm ambergris and a clean musk, creating a velvety, intimate skin scent.
