Aromara Mirage is an Extrait de Parfum. Mirage opens with Bergamot, Lemon, and Neroli, settles into a heart of African Marigold and Violet, and dries down to a base of Sandalwood, Vetiver, and Vanilla. Aromara's Mirage carries an Acquired verdict, a floral-led wear.

Mirage is Aromara's take on Byredo Bal d'Afrique, a warm vintage-floral cult favourite. The bergamot-marigold-vetiver signature is there, though at 35% Extrait it renders a little sweeter and less airy than Byredo's more transparent, marigold-forward original.

About

Mirage opens with bright bergamot, lemon and neroli, a citrus rush that softens into African marigold and violet through the heart - the same faintly powdery, honeyed-floral heart that gives Bal d'Afrique its distinctive character. Vetiver, sandalwood and vanilla settle the base into something warm and woody rather than sharp. Where the original stays airy and transparent, letting the marigold breathe, this version fills in a little more sweetness and body, which flattens some of the original's nuance but keeps the recognisable citrus-floral-vetiver arc intact. It sits comfortably between casual daywear and smart-casual office wear, reading elegant without being formal, and performs at a moderate strength that suits close-range wear across cooler months in particular.
