Aromers No 27 Black Opium is an Extrait de Parfum. No 27 Black Opium opens with Pink Pepper and Coffee, settles into a heart of Orange Blossom and Jasmine, and dries down to a base of Cedar, Patchouli, and Vanilla. Aromers's No 27 Black Opium carries a Statement verdict, a coffee-led wear.

No 27 captures YSL Black Opium's coffee-vanilla rock-chic core well, but the cedar-patchouli base is lighter and fades sooner than the original's dense, long-wearing gourmand dry-down.

About

Black Opium turned coffee into a mainstream feminine note, and No 27 follows the same gourmand-oriental blueprint: coffee and pink pepper open with a bitter-sweet jolt, jasmine and orange blossom soften the heart, and vanilla, patchouli and cedar settle the base. The opening is a strong match, that unmistakable coffee-vanilla contrast that made the original a phenomenon. Where the two diverge is in the base's density. YSL's version keeps a dense, almost syrupy vanilla-patchouli foundation running for hours under the white florals; No 27's base is comparatively light, thinning toward a simple sweet vanilla finish sooner rather than holding that rich, dark gourmand character. Projection starts bold and coffee-forward, then fades to a close skin scent within a few hours. As an affordable way to try the coffee-vanilla idea that defined a generation of feminine gourmands, it's convincing at the opening, but doesn't sustain the original's full darkness through a night out.
