Commodity Tea is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2013, created by Donna Ramanauskas. Tea opens with Citrus, Bergamot, and Lemon, settles into a heart of Jasmin Sambac, Lily of the Valley, and Freesia, and dries down to a base of Sandalwood and Clean Musk. Commodity's Tea carries a Favourite verdict, a fresh-led wear.

Commodity Tea is a divisive one; some find it a delightful, multi-faceted tea experience, others get pure industrial cleaner and artificial fizz. It's quirky, subtle, and definitely not a straightforward tea scent.

Top, heart and base are the brand's own listing, not a timing claim - the industry classifies a note by its character as much as by how fast it fades. Each curve here is modelled from that material's own volatility, so groups can overlap when a house lists long-lasting materials in its heart.

When To Wear

Best Seasons

Best For:
Spring Summer

A warm-weather pick - at its best in spring and summer.

Best Occasions

Best For:
Office Casual
Also Works:
Sport

Its intimate sillage and clean, fresh profile make it suitable for office and casual wear without being overpowering. It's too subtle and not traditionally alluring for dates, and too casual for formal events. The fresh, zesty notes could work for light activity.

About

It kicks off with a bright, tart burst of citrus and bergamot, leaning more lemon peel than sweet. This fresh opening quickly gives way to a surprisingly green and herbal heart, where jasmine, lily of the valley, and freesia try to evoke a tea-like quality. The base settles into a clean, musky sandalwood, attempting to soften the initial sharpness. It's less a brewed cuppa and more an abstract, 'clean' interpretation.
