Comporta Perfumes Mosquito Man is an Extrait de Parfum launched in 2018. Mosquito Man opens with Bergamot, Mandarin, Lime, and Galbanum, settles into a heart of Iris, Lily Of The Valley, and Lilac, and dries down to a base of Musk, Cedar, and Sandalwood. Comporta Perfumes's Mosquito Man carries a Favourite verdict, a green-led wear.

Mosquito rebuilt with a citrus and galbanum opening and an extrait's density. Same lily of the valley and iris heart, but bitterer at the top and firmer underneath, and aimed squarely at men who found the original too soft.

When To Wear

Best Seasons

Best For:
Spring Summer
Also Works:
Fall

Galbanum, limetta and muguet are spring materials by nature, and the extrait's cedar and sandalwood base extends its usefulness into autumn without ever making it a cold-weather scent.

Best Occasions

Best For:
Office Date Casual
Also Works:
Formal

Restrained projection and a tidy green-floral shape make it easy in professional settings, and the woody base gives it just enough formality for a smart evening.

About

Mosquito Man is a reworking rather than a flanker. The brand is candid about why it exists: the original Mosquito leaned on lily of the valley and some men would not go near it. This version keeps that heart but changes the approach entirely. Galbanum arrives first alongside limetta, mandarin and bergamot, and galbanum is the note that does the work, adding a bitter green sap that makes the opening feel cut and stemmy rather than clean. The citrus is dry and pithy, not sweet. From there it settles into familiar territory with lilac, muguet and iris root, but the extrait concentration means the florals sit heavier and closer to the skin, less airy than in the Eau de Parfum and noticeably less soapy. The base is where it gains most: musk, cedar and sandalwood give it a dry woody spine that the original does not really have, and this is why it lasts longer and holds a shape through the day. It is still a clean, transparent fragrance by any normal standard, so the masculine framing is relative to its sibling rather than to the wider market. Best in spring and summer, comfortable in an office, and probably the more versatile of the two Mosquitos for anyone who wants a green floral with some structure under it.
