Coup de Coeur Une Promesse is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2023. Une Promesse opens with Pear, settles into a heart of Rose and Iris, and dries down to a base of Musk, Amber, and Cedar. Coup de Coeur's Une Promesse carries a Favourite verdict, a floral-led wear.

Pear into rose and iris over musk, cedar and amber. Une Promesse is the simplest thing the brand makes and one of the most wearable, if not the most memorable.

When To Wear

Best Seasons

Best For:
Spring Fall
Also Works:
Summer Winter

Pear, rose and iris over clean musk make a light structure that suits mild weather. There is not enough base weight to hold up well in deep winter.

Best Occasions

Best For:
Office Date Casual
Also Works:
Formal

Light projection and a restrained rose and iris profile make it one of the range's few genuinely office-appropriate options. It is too quiet for formal evening wear.

About

Une Promesse has six notes and does not need more. Pear opens it alone, juicy and slightly green, the most familiar fruit opening in modern women's fragrance and one that works because it is bright without being sharp. It sets a clean, unfussy tone that the rest of the fragrance keeps. The heart pairs rose with iris, and the balance between them is what makes this composition better than its price suggests. Rose brings a soft pink sweetness, iris brings a cool, dry, faintly powdery quality, and together they make something that reads more grown-up and restrained than the fruity florals it sits alongside in the range. There is no white floral heaviness and no gourmand sweetness anywhere. The base is musk, cedar and amber, a clean and conventional finish where the musk dominates, cedar gives a thin dry structure and amber supplies a low warmth underneath. It ends soft and close to the skin. Performance in the 100 mL bottle is around four to five hours with light projection after the first hour. It suits spring and autumn best and is comfortable in a workplace, which is true of very little else the brand sells. Pick it if you want the range's most restrained option rather than its most interesting.
