D.S. & Durga Salem Gothic is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2023, created by David Seth Moltz and Kavi Moltz. Salem Gothic opens with Sea Water and Violet, settles into a heart of Spicy Notes, Yarrow, and Calla Lily, and dries down to a base of Lichen, Amber, and Sandalwood. D.S. & Durga's Salem Gothic carries an Acquired verdict, a floral-led wear.

Salem Gothic is a damp, moody unisex scent that smells more like a coastal forest than a perfume counter. Violet and sea water meet lichen and sandalwood for something unusual and quietly dark. Not for everyone, which is the point.

Top, heart and base are the brand's own listing, not a timing claim - the industry classifies a note by its character as much as by how fast it fades. Each curve here is modelled from that material's own volatility, so groups can overlap when a house lists long-lasting materials in its heart.

About

It begins with violet and sea water, a cool, slightly metallic and salty opening with a floral edge. The heart brings yarrow, calla lily and spicy notes, green and herbal with a dry spark of spice. Underneath, lichen gives a mossy, shaded, earthy feel, while sandalwood and amber add soft warmth so the base does not turn cold. The overall effect is atmospheric and a little strange: a cool, green, watery scent with a woody, slightly resinous finish that suits misty evenings.
