Beach, Please opens brightly with yuzu and neroli, a fair reflection of the sunny citrus burst that opens Louis Vuitton's On the Beach. Rosemary and thyme carry a herbal, slightly salty freshness into the middle that keeps the beach-holiday mood going. Where it falls short of the original is in the base: On the Beach is built around a salicylate-driven accord that reads almost like suntan lotion, giving it real staying power and a distinctive sun-warmed-skin character, and that effect only shows up faintly here, replaced mostly by a simple cypress-and-musk finish. That means Beach, Please is a lighter, more fleeting citrus-aromatic than the LV original, better suited to a quick daytime spritz than an all-day beach-to-evening wear.
