About

Akoya opens on raspberry, bergamot and orange, tart and juicy, then turns unexpectedly soft as caramel comes forward with jasmine and a quiet thread of lavender. The sweetness never tips into dessert, because the base pulls it back: sandalwood, leatherwood and patchouli give it a dry, slightly smoky spine that keeps the fruit honest. The result is a gourmand that a man can wear and a woody that a woman can wear, which is presumably the point of a unisex release. It performs well and leans evening, though it is light enough not to overwhelm in cooler daylight.
