Jubilee Scents FM56 - Portait of a Lady is an Eau de Parfum. FM56 - Portait of a Lady opens with Rose, Cinnamon, Clove, and Raspberry, settles into a heart of Sandalwood and Patchouli, and dries down to a base of Musk, Amber, and Benzoin. Jubilee Scents's FM56 - Portait of a Lady carries an Acquired verdict, a patchouli-led wear.

Chases Frederic Malle Portrait of a Lady's spiced-rose-patchouli signature, but the drydown is flatter and less resinous than the original's dense, incense-laced original.

About

FM56 opens with rose, clove, raspberry, black currant and cinnamon, echoing the spiced fruity-rose opening that made Portrait of a Lady so distinctive, before settling into a patchouli and sandalwood heart and a musk, benzoin and amber base. It's a reasonable stab at one of niche perfumery's most acclaimed rose fragrances, keeping the spiced-fruit-over-patchouli idea intact. The original's real magic is its sheer density, an almost overdosed patchouli-incense richness, and this version simply doesn't have the concentration or resinous depth to match it, coming across noticeably thinner and shorter-lived.
