Jubilee Scents JPG20 Le Male Elixir is an Eau de Parfum. JPG20 Le Male Elixir opens with Lavender and Mint, settles into a heart of Vanilla and Benzoin, and dries down to a base of Tonka Bean, Honey, and Tobacco. Jubilee Scents's JPG20 Le Male Elixir carries a Statement verdict, a sweet-led wear.

JPG20 recreates the gourmand honey-tobacco richness of Le Male Elixir's concentrated drydown reasonably well, though the lavender-mint opening is softer and the whole scent fades noticeably sooner than the parfum-strength original.

About

Jean Paul Gaultier's Le Male Elixir takes the classic Le Male lavender-vanilla accord and concentrates it into a dense, gourmand parfum, opening on lavender and mint before a rich vanilla-benzoin heart and a honeyed tobacco-tonka base that reads warm and intensely sweet. JPG20 follows the same shape: lavender and mint up top, vanilla and benzoin in the heart, honey, tonka bean and tobacco underneath. The honeyed tobacco-vanilla base is a fair match and captures the gourmand warmth reasonably well up close. Where it falls short is concentration and lift: the original's parfum strength gives it an intense, room-filling presence that lasts most of a day, while this version's lavender-mint opening reads thinner and the whole composition fades much sooner. A pleasant, cheaper way to try the gourmand-tobacco idea, but nowhere near the original's density or longevity.
