Rose 31 took the most traditional, romantic note in perfumery and plunged it into cumin, cedar and oud, creating a scent that reviewers still call divisive nearly two decades later. Jubilee's LL152 reproduces the opening well, that expected blast of rose immediately cut with sharp, warm cumin spice before drying into cedar and a hint of oud. Customers describe it as smelling exactly like the original at a fraction of the price. Where it diverges is in the animalic quality that made the original so distinctive: the real Rose 31 has a raw, warm-skin sensuality from its cumin-musk interplay that some wearers find intimately human and others find too much, and LL152 dials that rawness down into a more conventionally pleasant spiced-rose-woody scent. It loses a little of the original's daring edge, but keeps enough of the cumin-rose signature to satisfy fans of the concept.
