Luxe Fragrances Limewood is an Eau de Parfum. Limewood opens with Bergamot, Mandarin, and Lime, settles into a heart of Thyme and Basil, and dries down to a base of Vetiver and Patchouli. Luxe Fragrances's Limewood carries a Statement verdict, a citrus-led wear.

Limewood keeps the tart lime-and-basil contrast that makes Jo Malone's Lime Basil & Mandarin instantly recognisable, though the herbaceous thyme-iris nuance and clean patchouli-vetiver dry-down of the original are flattened into a simpler, more linear citrus-green wear.

About

Inspired by Lime Basil & Mandarin is Luxe Fragrances' version of Jo Malone London's Lime Basil & Mandarin, the 1999 release whose sharp, tart lime paired with a peppery herbal basil made it one of the brand's most enduring signatures, built on lime, mandarin and bergamot over basil, lilac, iris and thyme, resting on patchouli and vetiver. Limewood opens with a genuinely zesty lime-mandarin-bergamot burst, moving into a basil-thyme heart that gives a fair echo of the original's green, herb-garden character before settling on patchouli and vetiver. The lime-basil contrast, which is the whole identity of the real fragrance, comes through clearly in the opening hour, making Limewood a reasonably faithful sketch at first spray. Where it loses ground is the finer detail - the original's lilac and iris add a soft, powdery lift to the herbal heart that Limewood's simpler basil-thyme combination does not reach, and the patchouli-vetiver base reads thinner and less refined than Jo Malone's clean, understated dry-down. Performance runs three to five hours, in line with the original's own reputation for being a citrus fragrance that fades faster than its price suggests. A genuinely enjoyable, zesty everyday option for fans of the tart lime-basil combination, at a fraction of the cost.
