Blue de Chance

Maison Alhambra Blue de Chance is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2022. The fragrance opens with Pink Pepper, Mint, Grapefruit, and Lemon, settles into a heart of Jasmine, Nutmeg, and Ginger, and dries down to a base of Labdanum, Vetiver, Sandalwood, and Patchouli.

Our verdict on Blue de Chance: Acquired

Skip this one. Despite the promise of a well-known original, Blue de Chance is a deeply disappointing blue fragrance. It's aggressively synthetic, smells cheap, and performs terribly. There are far better, and frankly cheaper, alternatives out there. A resounding no from us.

Best Occasions

Given the poor longevity and generally synthetic, unpleasant smell reported by many, this isn't suitable for most occasions. While 'blue' fragrances typically offer versatility, this particular scent's execution limits its wearability to very casual, non-committal settings where it might quickly fade or be unnoticed.

About

Opens with an intensely sharp and synthetic blast of lemon and grapefruit, barely softened by a hint of mint and pink pepper. The mid attempts a metallic warmth with ginger and nutmeg, alongside a fleeting, almost soapy jasmine. The base is meant to be woody and musky with vetiver, sandalwood, and patchouli, but instead presents as a muddled, chemical dry-down that struggles to find any true depth or quality. There's a distinct lack of the sophisticated woods and rich incense that a 'blue' fragrance should deliver.
