Pairfum London Scarlet Rhubarb & Oakmoss is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2019. Scarlet Rhubarb & Oakmoss opens with Rhubarb, Apple, Apricot, and Dried Fruits, settles into a heart of Gardenia, and dries down to a base of Musk, Oakmoss, and Labdanum. Pairfum London's Scarlet Rhubarb & Oakmoss carries a Statement verdict, a fruity-led wear.

A tart, fruity chypre: rhubarb, strawberry and dried fruit over white gardenia, on a base of oakmoss, musk and labdanum. Bold, warm and lingering, for anyone who likes a fruit-led take on a classic mossy structure.

Top, heart and base are the brand's own listing, not a timing claim - the industry classifies a note by its character as much as by how fast it fades. Each curve here is modelled from that material's own volatility, so groups can overlap when a house lists long-lasting materials in its heart.

When To Wear

Best Seasons

Best For:
Summer Autumn
Also Works:
Spring

Tart fruit and a warm oakmoss and musk base make it a warm-weather and early autumn scent, from sun-filled holidays to mellow autumn days. It is not cosy enough for winter.

Best Occasions

Best For:
Date Casual
Also Works:
Office Formal

Bold, sumptuous and a little sexy, it suits evenings and dates best, while a wearer finds it versatile enough for daytime. It is too characterful to feel formal and not an office-quiet scent.

About

Scarlet Rhubarb & Oakmoss rewrites the classic chypre with a tart English top note. Where a classic chypre usually opens on a citrus note, this one opens on fresh tart rhubarb with sun-dried fruits and ripe strawberry, with crisp apple and apricot around them. The heart is a single flower, elegant white gardenia, and the base is oakmoss with musk and a little labdanum for a warm, lingering drydown. The house calls it bold, sumptuous and a little eccentric, and the community response is positive if small. One wearer found it brought back family holidays and fell for it, another pictured warm Mediterranean nights, and a third found it versatile, neither too sweet nor too dry, simple but intriguing enough to keep exploring. The few votes call it long lasting with a strong trail, and cover spring, summer and autumn, mainly for daytime. It reads unisex, fruit-led with a green edge rather than a dark mossy chypre, best in warm weather and early autumn and good for evenings as well as days. The house says it was written around mellow English autumn days, moonlit nights and warm, sun-filled holidays, which is a fair summary of how wide its use is. Pick it if you like fruity chypres with some bite. It is made by hand in the UK by a small London house.
