Nasomatto Duro is a famously rugged, animalic extrait - a dark, dry woody-leather with a cannabis-green top, tobacco and woods at the heart and a grounding sandalwood-musk base, unapologetically masculine and almost dirty without ever being offensive. It opens green and herbal with a cannabis-like note, then turns into a heart of dry woods, tobacco and warm spice before settling on a smooth leather, sandalwood and musk base. Perfume Parlour holds the woody-leather identity together, but it pulls back Duro's feral, animalic edge - the leather reads smoother and more conventional, the dirtiness sanded off - so it loses some of the original's brooding character. Longevity is solid for the price though it falls short of the extrait's marathon staying power. A bold, mysterious woody-leather for cold-weather evenings and confident casual wear.
