Galaxy

Perfume Parlour Galaxy is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2008. Galaxy opens with Mandarin and Ginger, settles into a heart of Blackcurrant, Jasmine, and Spicy, and dries down to a base of Cedar and Vanilla. Perfume Parlour's Galaxy carries a Statement verdict, a floral-led wear.

Galaxy chases Cacharel Amor Amor Tentation's spicy woodsy-floral and lands the zesty mandarin-and-jasmine signature well. It reads flatter and the sillage runs weaker than the already soft-projecting original, but the spiced cedar-vanilla drydown gives a convincing budget echo of a discontinued favourite.

About

Galaxy opens lively and zingy, mandarin sharpened by a spark of ginger, recalling the bright, fruity start of Cacharel Amor Amor Tentation. The heart turns floral and a little tart, a tangy blackcurrant facet weaving through jasmine with a dusting of warm spice, giving the woodsy-floral-oriental character that defined the original. The drydown is where it gets cosy, Virginia cedar and a sweet vanilla settling into a soft, spiced warmth. The original was always a sweet-but-quiet performer with modest sillage; this Perfume Parlour version follows the same arc but reads flatter still, with the jasmine a touch more synthetic and the projection close to the skin within the first hour. Even so, it captures the flirtatious, spiced-floral mood at a budget price, best in spring and cooler autumn weather for dates, casual days and easy evenings.
