Private Room

Perfume Parlour Private Room is an Eau de Parfum launched in 1998. Private Room opens with Bergamot, Hyacinth, Marigold, and Orange Blossom, settles into a heart of Rose, Iris, Jasmine, and Carnation, and dries down to a base of Vanilla, Cinnamon, Patchouli, and Sandalwood. Perfume Parlour's Private Room carries a Statement verdict, a floral-led wear.

Private Room reaches for Vivienne Westwood Boudoir's powdery floral-oriental boudoir warmth. The aldehydic-floral opening and vanilla-spice drydown ring familiar, but it stays softer and flatter, missing the raunchy depth the original is loved for.

About

Private Room opens with an aldehydic shimmer over hyacinth, marigold, orange blossom and bergamot, the same slightly old-school floral flourish that gave Vivienne Westwood Boudoir its vintage character. The heart is a powdery bouquet of rose, iris, jasmine and carnation, lightly spiced with cardamom and coriander, while the base settles into the signature Boudoir warmth of vanilla, cinnamon, patchouli and sandalwood. The effect is a confident, intimate floral-oriental built for closeness. As a Perfume Parlour budget interpretation it renders the composition a touch more 2D than the designer original - the smoky, almost skin-and-powder rawness that makes Boudoir addictive is smoothed over, and projection sits closer to the body with a few hours of presence rather than Boudoir's notoriously tenacious wear. What survives is the mood: powdery, spiced and sensual, an affordable way to wear the boudoir idea for an evening or a date.
