Where the Montale builds to a pronounced, creamy coffee crescendo, this budget version keeps the coffee softer and the sweetness forward, so reviewers say it leans closer to the original Intense Cafe than the coffee-heavy Ristretto. Projection is moderate to good and longevity is good at six to eight hours, short of the extrait original's marathon staying power.
