Soft Timber opens with a juicy fruit accord - blackcurrant and raspberry brightened by a squeeze of grapefruit, the cheerful berry start that suits the Cashmere Wood style. A soft floral heart of lily, peony and powdery violet follows, before the composition settles into its signature: a warm, musky cashmere-wood base sweetened with vanilla. Against the originals it imitates the dupe reads sweeter and flatter, with the cashmeran's clever ability to add warmth and physical presence simplified into a straightforward soft musk. It wears as a cuddly, comforting fruity-floral - easy across spring and the cooler seasons and suited to casual days, daily wear and date nights. Projection is modest and longevity skin-close after the opening hours; since cashmeran usually gives strong staying power, this is the most noticeable trade in the budget rendering. As a smell-alike it captures the cosy berry-peony-cashmere signature while losing some of the richness and tenacity.
