Soft Water

Perfume Parlour Soft Water is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2019. Soft Water opens with Nutmeg and Juniper, settles into a heart of Coriander, and dries down to a base of Vanilla, Amber, Woody, and Musk. Perfume Parlour's Soft Water carries a Statement verdict, a sweet-led wear.

Soft Water tracks Maison Francis Kurkdjian's Gentle Fluidity Gold - that gilded, syrupy vanilla-amber softened with juniper and nutmeg. The creamy warmth is recognisable, but it leans sweeter and flatter, missing the original's smooth woody glow and refined sillage.

About

Built to mirror MFK's Gentle Fluidity Gold, Soft Water opens with a gentle aromatic lift of juniper berries and nutmeg before quickly diving into what this scent is really about: a warm, creamy heart of vanilla and amber. Coriander adds a faint spicy edge while soft woods and musk round the base into a cosy, almost gourmand-amber glow. Next to the real Gentle Fluidity Gold it reads sweeter and more linear, the amberwood less refined and the juniper-coriander freshness dialled back further, so it loses some of the niche elegance and the long, gilded trail. Projection is moderate and turns skin-close after the first hour, with longevity that fades sooner than the original on a good day. For the money, though, it captures the comforting, unisex vanilla-amber signature convincingly - a soft, snug warmth that suits cool-weather evenings, dates and easy daily wear, reading as cosy and quietly sophisticated rather than loud.
