Strong Forest For Men

Perfume Parlour Strong Forest For Men is an Eau de Parfum launched in 1998. Strong Forest For Men opens with Cinnamon, Lime, Lemon, and Bergamot, settles into a heart of Nutmeg, Cardamom, Pepper, and Amber, and dries down to a base of Guaiac Wood, Benzoin, Sandalwood, and Vetiver. Perfume Parlour's Strong Forest For Men carries an Acquired verdict, a warm spicy-led wear.

A budget take on Kenzo Jungle Homme. Strong Forest nails the bizarre, spicy nutmeg-and-cinnamon signature of the original, but the dupe pushes the hot spices louder while the cool powdery guaiac-and-benzoin depth that made Jungle so strange and addictive reads thinner and fades quicker.

About

Strong Forest opens with a warm jolt of cinnamon over a flicker of lime, lemon and bergamot, fresher and brighter than the original's denser start. The heart is where the Jungle DNA lives - a big, cool nutmeg leads, backed by cardamom, pepper and a hint of amber for that spicy, almost medicinal exotic character. The drydown leans on creamy guaiac wood, sweet benzoin, sandalwood and vetiver. Compared to Kenzo Jungle Homme, this Perfume Parlour version is louder and more linear up top: the hot spices are dialled up while the weird, powdery-woody depth and the slow-burning sweetness that gave the 1998 original its hypnotic staying power are simplified, so it projects boldly early but settles and thins faster. It remains a characterful, spice-forward oriental made for cold-weather evenings.
