Water Spirit II opens fresh and tangy with bergamot, grapefruit and an airy aquatic calone shimmer, echoing the cleaner side of Acqua di Gio Essenza. What sets the Essenza apart is its green heart, and this dupe follows: aromatic basil and clary sage weave through gorgeous jasmine, less oceanic and more herbal-floral than the original Acqua di Gio. The base turns woody and warm with earthy patchouli, dry Atlas cedar, vetiver and a radiant ambrox glow. As a dupe it captures the sophisticated green-woody-aquatic character of its muse in outline, though it wears flatter and more linear, the genuine Essenza's standout projection softened to a skin-near presence with moderate longevity. The result is a clean yet sensual fresh-green-woody that flexes from office to casual to date across milder seasons - a wallet-friendly way to wear what many call the best Acqua di Gio of all.
