The original is famous for feeling spontaneous and energising, a citrusy chypre that manages to be fresh without being thin, and this dupe reproduces that top-note energy well in the first hour. The heart's floral-aquatic quality is also a fair match for the source's watery jasmine character. Where it comes up short is in the chypre backbone: real Chance Eau Fraiche has a more sophisticated patchouli-oakmoss-style base that gives it a grown-up structure beneath the freshness, while this version leans into a simpler, more generic musk-patchouli combination that loses some of that Chanel polish as it dries down. Still, for the price, it delivers a very wearable, citrusy fresh floral in the same spirit as the icon it copies.
