Pinrose Pinrose is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2014, created by David Apel. Pinrose opens with Anise, Rose, and Elemi, settles into a heart of Iris and Clove, and dries down to a base of Vanilla, Labdanum, and Ambergris. Pinrose's Pinrose carries an Acquired verdict, a musk-led wear.

A divisive one, this. Some get a dark, gothic rose, others a sharp, artificial air freshener. It's an intriguing take on spicy rose, but its performance issues and love-or-hate opening mean it's not a safe blind buy.

Top, heart and base are the brand's own listing, not a timing claim - the industry classifies a note by its character as much as by how fast it fades. Each curve here is modelled from that material's own volatility, so groups can overlap when a house lists long-lasting materials in its heart.

When To Wear

Best Seasons

Best For:
Fall Winter

A cold-weather scent - best worn in autumn and winter.

Best Occasions

Best For:
Date Formal
Also Works:
Casual

Its moderate longevity and sillage make it versatile enough for day or night, leaning more towards evening due to its spicy, dark rose character. While some find it office-friendly, others report a strong opening that might be too much for close quarters, and it's certainly not a gym scent.

Declarable allergens

We derive these from the materials behind this fragrance's notes, not from the bottle. Each one is likely, not confirmed. The list is partial - the box can name others.

In standard patch-test panels

  • Geraniol from Rose

Other declarable allergens

  • Clove Eugenia Caryophyllus Flower Oil from Clove
  • Eugenia Caryophyllus Leaf Oil from Clove
  • Vanillin from Vanilla

The large name is the everyday one. The small name is the INCI form on the box, so you can compare the two. Reactions differ between people. A patch-test panel is not a ranking of risk. How we derive this

About

Opens with a potent, almost sharp rose, boosted by aromatic anise and the resinous kick of elemi. As it settles, iris adds a powdery, sophisticated layer, while clove introduces a distinctive spicy warmth. The base mellows into a rich blend of creamy vanilla, deep labdanum, and a subtle salty-ambergris earthiness, grounding the floral and spice into a sensual skin scent.
