Stay Cool

by Karine Dubreuil-Sereni

Samouraï Stay Cool is an Eau de Parfum launched in 2013, created by Karine Dubreuil-Sereni. Stay Cool opens with Apple, Mint, and Coriander, settles into a heart of Lavender, Juniper, and Rainwater, and dries down to a base of Vetiver, Musk, and Woody. Samouraï's Stay Cool carries a Statement verdict, a aromatic-led wear.

This one's a bit of a damp squib. Unless you fancy smelling faintly of saltwater and talcum powder with zero lasting power, you can give 'Stay Cool' a miss. There are far better fresh scents out there.

Its poor projection and longevity make it unsuitable for most occasions where you want to be noticed. It might just pass for a casual, personal fresh scent, but reviews suggest even that is a stretch.

About

Imagine a faint, almost ephemeral mist of crisp green apple and cool mint, sharpened by a touch of coriander. This fleeting freshness soon gives way to a rather flat heart of cool lavender and watery juniper, attempting to evoke rain but landing closer to a vague, salty aquatic note. The dry down offers little in the way of warmth, settling into a whisper of vetiver and musk, barely there and ultimately unremarkable. It's a scent that promises refreshment but delivers only a faint, quickly forgotten whiff.
