The Essence Vault Erba Gold - 16 is an Eau de Parfum. Erba Gold - 16 opens with Bergamot, Lemon, Orange, and Ginger, settles into a heart of Cardamom, Cinnamon, Melon, and Apple, and dries down to a base of Musk, Amber, and Vanilla. The Essence Vault's Erba Gold - 16 carries a Statement verdict, a citrus-led wear.

No. 16 pursues Xerjoff's Erba Gold across nearly the whole pyramid - citrus opening, fruity-spicy heart, amber-vanilla base - and covers a lot of ground faithfully. It's simplified and louder in the opening though, without the niche-grade citrus polish or the layered warmth of the real Erba Gold's drydown.

About

The Essence Vault's No. 16 sets out to replicate Xerjoff's Erba Gold across its full arc, opening on the same Mediterranean citrus rush of lemon, bergamot and orange sharpened with ginger. The heart follows Xerjoff's fruity-spicy direction with green apple, pear, melon, cardamom and cinnamon, and the base settles into a similarly rich amber-vanilla-musk finish. It's a genuinely ambitious match on paper and gets the overall gold-fruity-oriental shape right. The gaps show in execution: Xerjoff's citrus opening has a cleaner, more refined sparkle thanks to higher-grade materials, and its drydown blends amber, vanilla and woody notes with more nuance and lasting warmth, while No. 16's version is louder and sweeter up front and thins out into a simpler musk-vanilla combination sooner. Still, for a fraction of the price it offers a believable, energetic take on the liquid-gold idea, well suited to bold summer days and evening dates, even if it can't fully replicate the niche polish of the original.
