Manhattan 33 is The Parfum Hub's take on Le Labo's Santal 33, the 2011 cult release that turned creamy Australian sandalwood, cardamom and a leather backbone into a modern unisex signature recognised across fashion circles. The dupe opens with cardamom pushed forward and a touch of violet, a spicier and slightly louder introduction than the original's smoother entrance. The heart brings iris and leather together, echoing Santal 33's papyrus-leather impression without its full smoky nuance. The base settles into sandalwood and amber, a creamy woody close that captures the broad strokes of the original's signature but flattens out its dry, ambrox-laced depth. Where Santal 33 is known for eight to ten hours of strong performance that lingers on fabric for days, Manhattan 33 offers a more modest four to six hours before fading close to the skin. The character stays woody, spicy and confident, working well through autumn and winter and suited to casual wear or a low-key date where a sandalwood-leather presence is welcome. At a fraction of the niche price, it is a reasonable way to sample the cardamom-sandalwood-leather family, even if the original's layered complexity and lasting power are simplified here.
