Our verdict on Ex Voto: Favourite

This is a masterpiece of restraint; a beautiful, modern incense that's sadly hampered by its fleeting nature. A love-it-or-hate-it scent for the price, the opening is heavenly, but many find the dry-down disappears too quickly.

Best Seasons

Best For:
Fall
Also Works:
Winter

A cold-weather scent - best worn in autumn and winter.

Best Occasions

Best For:
Office Casual
Also Works:
Date

Its moderate sillage and somewhat ephemeral nature make it suitable for office wear and casual settings, as it won't overpower. The unique herbal-incense blend might be too niche for formal events, and it's definitely not one for sport.

About

Ex Voto opens with a bright, peppery frankincense, quickly joined by an aromatic embrace of chamomile and clover, creating an unusual fresh-herbal counterpoint to the sacred. Guaiac wood and sandalwood lend a smooth, dry warmth, while ambergris adds a subtle, almost liturgical depth. It's a scent that conjures cool stone chapels and sun-dappled fields, a refined interplay of the austere and the pastoral.
