Bespoke perfume house with French roots and a Singapore home, where you blend your own Eau de Parfum

About Maison 21G Paris

Maison 21G Paris is a bespoke perfume house founded by Johanna Monange. She is French, trained at Mane's perfumery school in Grasse, and spent more than 20 years at the fragrance houses Mane, Firmenich and IFF, latterly leading IFF's work for L'Oréal. She opened the first boutique at 77 Duxton Road, Singapore, in September 2019. The company is based in Singapore, with production in France and Singapore, and its essences are credited to IFF perfumers including Dominique Ropion, Anne Flipo, Nicolas Beaulieu and Florent Di Marino.

The idea is that you make the perfume yourself. Each essence is built around one natural hero material, such as mimosa, tuberose, vetiver or oud, and customers pair them into an Eau de Parfum with a personalised label, in a boutique, at a workshop or at home with the La Création set. The house says its formulas are vegan and cruelty-free, its Eau de Parfum carries 21% concentrate, and its bottles are refillable. It also designs signature scents for hotels and brands. The name comes from the old claim that the human soul weighs 21 grams.

Brand Evolution

Maison 21G began as a Singapore-based bespoke perfumery and has developed a hybrid retail and online model. Its direction remains centred on customisation, blending, and guided scent discovery rather than a conventional designer-style sequence of launches.

Quick Verdict

Maison 21G is strongest as an interactive custom-fragrance service, not as a traditional house with one unmistakable signature style. The concept is distinctive, but the experience and price may matter more than depth or consistency across every blend.
